We are not seeking power to repeat the mistakes of the NPP - Mahama.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not seek political power in order to replicate the mistakes of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stated that some party members who are unhappy with what the NPP has done for NDC members and want the party to repay them in kind if they win power in 2024 should not think like that and should instead prioritize the party's overall interests.
"There is no need to seek political power in order to repeat the mistakes of the NPP," he said.
Former President Mahama made the remarks while launching his campaign for the NDC flagbearer position in Ho, Volta Region.
He believed that there was no need to come to power with a vindictive mindset, as the Akufo-Addo administration had done.

A father allegedly burns his son's back because he refuses to farm.
Kwame Yeboah, 60, aka Kwaakontor, is accused of using firewood to burn his 31-year-old son Eric Yaw Frimpong in Berekum-Amankokwaa, Berekum West District, Bono Region.
According to legend, the farmer burned his son's back with firewood.
According to the victim, his father asked him to go to the farm, but he refused because his father had neglected him and assigned him to only farming on his cashew and cocoa plantation without sending him to school.
He claimed that they forced him to farm without regard for his well-being, which resulted in his father burning him for refusing to work on the farm.
He explained that he has been going through all of this because his mother is no longer alive.
The father, for his part, stated that whenever he suggested it, his son refused to learn a skill or trade.
