JOINT Press conference by the Pusiga KUSASI AND bissa youth.
Friends from the media, invited guest, ladies and gentlemen. We cordially welcome you all to this august press conference in view of the recent disturbances and tumultuous environment within Pusiga.
Ladies and gentlemen we want to first acknowledge the ZUGRAAN Bawku Naaba Asigiri Azoka Aborago II, the Pusiga Naaba Ibrahim Ayumah Aguri, the DCE for Pusiga, Alhaji Sofo Saana and elders of both the Kusasi and Bissas for their show of love for the people of Pusiga. May they live long to continue guiding us.
As we still bemoan the bizarre incident that created a lot of despair in Pusiga that has been an exclusively peaceful abode over decades, we also acknowledge the essence of peace and the reasons for unity in order to restore that salutary environment back in Pusiga. Pusiga has NO reason to be in chaos for any reason.
On the above score, we wish to make the following pronouncements: that
1. The Bawku conflict is uniquely exceptional in nature and does not extend to us in Pusiga.
2. The various social media posts and audios are the views and opinions of those individuals who author them and does not represent our collective expressions.
3. Unity among all tribes is the surest way to engender peaceful co-existence.
It is quite clear that our situation has been fueled largely by social media commentary and the posturing of some individuals. These unfortunate social media annotations convey sentiments that are usually misread to be the views of tribes. Sadly, these audios come from ALL tribes and most likely the reasons for the counter audios. Our view and appeal are that;
The youth should completely desist from making and or sharing social media stuff that breed negative sentiments in the public space.
When those unsavory social media commentary are unfortunately made and into the public domain, they should be regarded and threated as the EXCLUSSIVE views and opinions of such individuals who made them.
As we caution our youth to desist from making such audios, we also employ sharing of such information to the necessary stakeholders for verification.
Friends from the media, the security service present, invited guest, friends, family, ladies and gentlemen. We are by all these sentiments exhorting peace, peace and peace to take lead of us and that involves all of us. There has NEVER been a winner nor development as fruits of conflict. Our resentment on the incidence is an extension of our stance against its occurrence and possible continuation. Let’s peace and unity prevail.
To conclude and with much emphasis calling on the security agencies and opinion leaders to tackle and be tactful in the criminalities associated with situation under contention. The issues have NO basis but purely criminal in nature and so the laws should be fully enforced. That will not only serve as deterrent to those who nurse ambitions of committing them but will bring justice to soothe the pain and anguish of those who are affected.
Finally we want call on the various stake holders such as the government, security agencies, the traditional rulers and the clergy to continue to play their various roles to ensuring peace and unity amongst the people of Pusiga.
