The municipal Chief Executive for the Sunyani Municipal Assembly, Hon Ansu Kumi has awarded some performing staff of the Municipal Health Directorate.
The MCE who did the presentation on behalf of the Assembly awarded a 50-inch flatscreen digital television to the best performing health staff in the Municipality.
This award was presented at the 2022 Annual Performance Review held at the Dr Aaron Offei Conference hall in the Sunyani Municipality adjacent the Bono Regional Hospital.
Reacting to the presentation delivered by the Sunyani West Health Directorate on the performance of the Sunyani East Health Directorate, the MCE bemoaned the increase in maternal and neonatal mortalities per the data presented and encouraged the Directorate to immediately turn things around to reposition the municipality into the glory it has been noted for relative to its health delivery services.
He also commended the Directorate on its strengths that is, reducing the percentage of infants born to HIV Infected mothers from 5% to 3%.
He again eulogized the Directorate for ensuring the reduction in deaths due to malaria infections from 2.6% to 0.4%.
The viral loading testing coverage also increased from 24% to 51% in a positive trajectory.
Vitamin (A) coverage increased from 96.6% to 121.1%
Furthermore, the Chief Executive joined a stakeholder engagement organized by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) Bono Chapter held at the EUSBET International Conference Center in the municipality.
In a brief remarks, the MCE admonished customers and utility providers to enhance their engagements whilst cautioning against illegal connections.
He further called on the PURC to deepen the engagements whilst lauding them to for organizing this section so as to encourage more participation from the customers.
Speaking to the media, Communication Officer of the NPP for the Sunyani East Constituency, Abubakari Yakubu( Baba Amando) stated, the Municipal Chief Executive Of the area is committed to the wellbeing of the people of the area and would do more to help promote good healthy living in the area.
