The Christ Apostolic Church International's outgoing General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Amponsah Frimpong, has been chosen to serve as the organization's next Chairman.
Of the 1084 ballots cast, he received 676 votes, defeating his opponent, Reverend Augustine Bugyei, who received 308 votes.
The newly elected chairman took over for Apostle George Yeboah, according to a statement to the Ghana News Agency.
In the race for general secretary, Apostle Samuel Addai-Kusi, the Church's departing director of missions, received 633 votes over Rev. Augustine Ekuban's 343 votes and one invalid ballot.
With 663 votes, Rev. Asumadu Kyeremeh defeated Rev. David Biney for the job of Christian Education Director.
Apostle D. H. Okyere, who received 72 votes with one ballot being spoiled, lost to Apostle Prosper Agbagblo, the current Evangelism Director, by 908 votes.
By 632 votes, Apostle George Peter Derry defeated Rev. Emmanuel Awotwe for the job of Missionary Director. Awotwe received 345 votes.
The newly elected prophetic director is Rev. Samuel Kpeli Mensah. He received 507 votes, of which 471 went to the Rev. Baffour Awuah.
All Executive Council members, full-time Ministers, Territorial Administration Members, three representatives from each area, as well as representatives from specific missionary areas in Ghana and foreign missions, are eligible and accredited representatives for the exercise under Article 9 Section 2 of the 2019 Constitution of the Christ Apostolic Church International.
Department leaders at the general headquarters and two representatives from the national management of the women's ministry, the youth/casa ministry, the men's ministry, and the children's ministry round out the group.
Observers may be heads of subsidiaries or representatives.
The electoral committee of the Church oversaw the elections.
The Apostolic Church Ghana, Ghana Apostolic, and Assemblies of God are just a few of the many pentecostal denominations that have grown out of the Christ Apostolic Church International, which was established by Apostle Peter Newman Anim, widely regarded as the founding father of pentecostalism in Ghana.
The Church and the country eagerly anticipate the swearing-in, handing-over, and induction rituals of the newly elected officials as well as their future intentions.
The new executives were chosen at the 66th Ministerial and General Council Meeting, which was held at Accra's National Theatre from Monday, February 20, to Thursday, February 23.
