On Monday, all roads lead to the Volta Regional Youth Resource Centre in Adaklu-Tsrefe, near Ho, for the 66th anniversary of the country's independence.
"Our unity, our strength, our destiny," is the theme of the big event.
Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Regional Minister, who has been inspecting the venue every week, said everything was ready for the celebration.
"Volta Region is ready," he said, expressing satisfaction with the work done.
The Youth Resource Centre has now become a tourist attraction, with many members of the public stopping by to see the facility.
Guests
More than 5,000 people from across the country are expected to attend the anniversary, which will be presided over by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, will be the special guest at the celebration, which is expected to include exciting cultural displays and a colorful parade, military exercise and displays such as rappelling, acrobatics, and displays of various skills and capabilities.
Dr. Letsa stated that 80 members of the diplomatic corps would also attend the celebration.
Ho-Ahoe is hosting an anniversary walk.
There will be 64 officers and 1,042 men from various security agencies on parade, as well as contingents from seven senior high schools (SHS) and basic schools from the Ho Municipality and the Adaklu District, as well as voluntary organizations.
As of last Thursday, the road between Adaklu District and Ho was decorated with Ghana flags hung on utility poles, as were the main streets of Ho and some Adaklu communities.
Meanwhile, after a series of clean-ups, the streets of Ho are clean, and some workplaces and pubs have decorated their premises with the colors of the national flag.
Industry of hospitality
According to the Daily Graphic, the hospitality industry is benefiting from the countdown to the celebration, with rooms sold out for March 6.
A manager at one of the region's top hotels, the Volta Serene Hotel, told the Daily Graphic that 60% of the 300 rooms were booked.
The Sky Plus Hotel, a posh hotel with picturesque views of Ho, has sold out all 100 rooms for the anniversary.
Security
The Independence Day fever is spreading quickly, thanks to a massive presence of heavy armored vehicles and armed personnel from various security agencies.
Early morning jogging sessions by various groups have become a regular feature of the regional capital in recent days.
Apart from the national colors that dominate Ho and Adaklu, portraits of the region's paramount chiefs have taken prominent positions on some key roads.
To improve security, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has installed 2,500 street lights in the Ho Municipality to illuminate the streets of Ho and the road leading to Adaklu-Tsrefe at night.
The ECG replaced faulty street lights in the regional capital and installed new lights on other major roads throughout the municipality.
Emmanuel Lumor, the ECG's Regional Manager, assured that there would be no interruption in power supply during the celebration.
The chiefs of Asogli State have promised visitors a warm and unforgettable welcome.
Juliana Kpedekpo, the Adaklu District Chief Executive, stated, "We are ready to host the entire Ghana at Adaklu for the celebration."
The 66th Independence Day falls on the 66th birthday of the regional minister and the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, while the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho is in charge of organizing the march past.
The regiment has assured the public that it has sent men "in strength" to oversee security during the celebration.

Stella Kumedzro, Regional Environmental Health Officer, told the Daily Graphic that food vendors who had not been medically screened and issued with health certificates would be denied access to the venue.
She explained that the move was made to prevent communicable diseases.
Chiefs from the region's paramountcies are also expected to attend the celebration.
Taxi drivers William Dogbe and Anthony Ahiagba said they had serviced their vehicles ahead of time in preparation for a busy day.
According to the Daily Graphic, some gamblers are now staking the number 66 with other numbers in the hopes of winning the lottery on the 66th Independence Day celebration.
