Erling Haaland's antics against Newcastle United led fans to believe that he considers Premier League matches to be charity matches.

Manchester City have a Premier League game against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, hoping to close the gap between them and Arsenal to just three points.

Man City led from start to finish and Pep Guardiola's men took only 15 minutes to take the lead. Phil Foden made a great solo to make it 1-0.

In the second half, Bernardo Silva's 67th minute goal sealed a 2-0 victory. However, fans discovered Haaland's antics in the late game, leading to speculation that he views the Premier League as charity matches.

One fan posted a video of the Norwegian striker wasting time near the corner flag and then whipping into the crowd.

Notes read:

"Haaland, he treats it like a charity game skdkdmmd."

Other fans reacted to the video.

Someone said:

"Has been one of my favorite players."

Another commented:

"True troll, he made Lascelles flutter."

After scoring 27 Premier League goals in the first half of the season, Haaland's performances have come under the microscope in recent weeks due to his poor form.

However, it is clear that when given the opportunity, he is more likely to hide it. After the crucial win over the Magpies, goal scorer Silva told BT Sport:

"I'm happy because it was a difficult game. It was a difficult moment in the game for us.

“They took more risks and they did, so to score that [second] goal is very good. You know when you play against Newcastle this season how good they are. They go there because they need points. We knew they were going to put more pressure and create more chances, so the second goal was important for us.

Arsenal now have the opportunity to extend the top of the table to 5 points if they beat Bournemouth.
