Christian Atsu, the late Black Star player, will be laid to rest on March 17, 2023.
According to his family, his funeral will be held on the forecourt of the statehouse.
This was announced during a one-week celebration at Accra's Adjiringanor Astro Turf.
Meanwhile, Mustapha Yussif, Minister of Youth and Sports, has assured the government that the late Ghanaian footballer will be given a proper funeral.
"The government has covered the entire cost of the one-week celebration. A state funeral will be held. Because of the late footballer's contribution to Ghanaian football, the government will bear the cost of that as well.
"Aside from that, the way our brother died was heartbreaking, and now is the time for us all to come together to give him a proper funeral."
Former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kojo Kyerematen urged Ghanaians to emulate late Black Stars striker Christian Atsu's lifestyle.
He claimed that the love shown to the striker and his family since his death is due to his good deeds.
The event was attended by Black Stars players such as Asamoah Gyan, Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari, and John Mensah, among others.
On February 6, 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Turkey and Syria, killing the footballer.
After an 11-story building collapsed on him and others, Atsu's lifeless body was recovered from the wreckage in Turkey.
His body was brought to Ghana from Turkey on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is known for his selfless, philanthropic work, but he also believes in keeping many of these interventions under the radar.
After completing a magnificent reconstruction of the Kumasi Central Mosque, one would have expected Dr. Bawumia to wax lyrical about it and brag about such a historic achievement at the facility's commissioning on Friday.
Others, including the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, praised the Vice President for his contributions to Kumasi.
When it came time for Dr. Bawumia to speak, he was clearly overwhelmed by the accolades he had received, particularly from the Kumasi Central Mosque Committee and the Asantehene.
The Vice President thanked God for providing him with the means to carry out the magnificent project, but insisted that his intervention was the will of God.
"I am extremely grateful to Allah for providing me with the vision, guidance, and commitment to complete this massive project. When I visited the mosque in 2020 and realized it needed immediate attention, I was moved by Allah "Dr. Bawumia explained.
"In terms of mosques, God constructs his own. He only employs people to do it "The Vice President went on to say.
The Kumasi Central Mosque is one of the country's oldest mosques.
The mosque used to hold 3000 people, but it has since been rebuilt and transformed into a 7000-capacity structure with additional facilities such as a 500-capacity conference room, an expanded ablution area, offices for Imams and Zongo Chiefs, and a two-bedroom apartment for guests.
