Ghanaian gospel singer born Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong heyer known as the Great Ampong has recently reacted to his unending feud with Ghanaian high-life legend Daddy Lumba. Ampong and Daddy Lumba have been in the news severally after the former claimed the latter have ripped him off the money from a project they made together. Their unending feud has got most online users accusing Ampong as a clout chaser as he constantly jabs Daddy Lumba the least chance he gets.
Ampong reacting to the news revealed that he is never a clout chaser and had no intention of wanting to be famous with the issue, he added that Daddy Lumba owes him and that's the sole reason why he made it public not to get famous. He made this revelation in a radio interview on Adom FM’s Ofie kwanso with Jerry Justice.
"God is my witness. I don't need anyone for
hype. The system knows me already. He owes
me, it's not about hype…. so if someone thinks
it's about hype, it's never true. I have written
songs for many people."
Ampong and Lumba’s feud began when Ampong came out claiming Lumba is a cheat and he never paid him a dime from the numerous collaborations they have made despite the song bringing in a lot of cash. In 2015, the gospel musician and the high-life legend joined forces together and released a joint album titled Hosanna which received a whole lot of love and reception. Going forward Ampong revealed that, it was Daddy Lumba who reached out to him with the idea, and as respectful as he is, he agreed not knowing this will be the outcome.
"He called me on phone and said he was a fan of
my work so he would like us to work on a
project together. He invited me to his house and
we had a discussion,"
The album has six songs and Ampong claims he wrote six of the said songs. The album on its release got a good reception and Ampong was looking at the bigger picture, however, things went south Ampong after the launch of the Album, Lumba took away all the money they had earned without giving him a penny to date.
