Ghanaian gospel singer Great Ampong has sent out words of encouragement to anyone facing a particular difficulty in life to hold onto God because he has a plan for everyone. In an interview, Ampong revealed that people do not his beginning but have the urge to speak ill of his success. According to the “Akoko fun” hitmaker, life has not been easy since losing his father at just 14 years old. He further added that, after losing his dad, he was left to take care of himself hence he find every means to survive and joined a galamsey operation in tarkwa to earn money in other to cater for himself and his younger siblings.
In an interview on Adom FM “ofie Kwan so” with jerry justice, Ampong revealed that music has changed his life and he cannot account for the money he has made from music so far. He went on to add that, he used to be a local miner with no intentions of becoming famous and even a great gospel singer, but God had other plans for him and today here he is with his name all over Ghana. The multiple-award musician also stated that being ungrateful to God will be an understatement because he has benefited from this music thing and he gives all the praise to God.
Ampong rose to fame in the early 2000,s and has dropped numerous hit gospel songs which include “Maranatha, Akoko funu, Alpha, Counter Attack, Aseda” and more.

"Music has done a lot for me. Where would I
have been? My dad died at the age of 14 years. I
have been a 'Galamseyer' at Tarkwa. I am
experienced at.
"God directed my path. I have enjoyed singing as
a profession. I will never be ungrateful as I have
made lots of money from music. From 2005
when Bandex managed me till now, music has
helped my family. I don't know anyone who has
been to events than me. I am always on the move
unless I am tired."
