Acne is devastating. It makes life uncomfortable. Your skin looks rough, reddish, and painful sometimes. My acne started in high school and some of my friends experienced it as well. It feels so bad to the point that you get low self-esteem. I put the advice from experts into action and it’s been helpful. I want to share why the acne is not going away.

You have used creams, cleansers, facial scrubs, soaps, and taken antibiotics but it keeps coming back. You have probably sought different ways on how to treat acne and pimples. You even cause more harm to the skin when you regularly wipe it with water or cleanser. You clear some good bacteria and oils that protect the skin. Do you know why stubborn acne is not ready to vanish? I guess you are eager to cut it off from your life.

According to experts, most acne medications only tackle the tip of the iceberg and do not solve the problem. You need to understand the cause of a problem to be able to solve it.

One major cause of acne is high levels of androgens. Androgen is a hormone in the body and it is commonly found in males but females have it as well. There is a spike of androgens when your body has high insulin levels which are caused by a high intake of carbohydrates or sugar. Snack is one common source of sugar and consuming it often can provide a conducive environment for acne. Androgen at its peak enlarges the sweat glands, over-produce sebum or oils, and creates more dead skin cells. These dead skin cells clog pores in your skin, get infected and then form blackheads and whiteheads on your skin.

Dr. Berg recommends a low-carb diet that normalizes insulin in your body. Also, androgens can be reduced when stress is lessened. Again, do not pop pimples to prevent scars and dark spots. Now, start killing your acne from the root. Good luck with your acne treatment.
