According to Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will give his yearly State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.


Members of Parliament (MPs), the Speaker, and the Judiciary are required to receive the President's Message on the Condition of the Country under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.



Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the deputy majority leader, made the announcement on Friday while presenting the business statement for the fifth week ending March 10 on the House floor.


At the SONA, he asked MPs to be on time and be seated in the chamber no later than 9.15 a.m. He also cautioned them against entering the chamber with their visitors.

Six ministers would be required to come before the House for 32 questions throughout the week.


In addition to the minister of roads and highways, the ministries of health, energy, national security, environment, science, technology, and innovation are also included.


There would be four urgent and 28 oral questions.


The St. Mary's Hospital irob constituency's X-ray equipment and generator are malfunctioning, and the Member of Parliament for Jaman South, William Okofo-Dateh, will enquire about what urgent measures the Ministry of Health is taking to replace them.
