Ghana's Support For Guinea-Independence Bissau's Fight Is Appreciated

Ghana has received accolades from the government of Guinea-Bissau for providing significant assistance to that nation throughout its fight for independence.

We in Guinea-Bissau are appreciative of Ghana's sympathy and assistance throughout the nation's freedom war. observed President Umaro Sissoco Embalo.

Speaking during the celebration of Ghana's 66th anniversary of independence in Adaklu, Volta Region, President Sissoco Embalo said his nation treasured the long-standing ties between the two nations.

He commended Ghana for years of advocacy on behalf of the African continent, a route that saw the majority of sub-Saharan African nations construct the self-assurance to overthrow colonial tyranny.

The Guinea-Bissau President, who is also the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), remembered how certain forefathers, such as the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President, played an inspirational role in driving the cause of the continent.

He claimed that the former president of Ghana would be remembered for his committed and unselfish life.

The country was pleased to have the visiting President as the Guest of Honor for its Independence Anniversary, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He said that he hoped the two nations would cooperate to create a successful future and stated that Ghana was proud of the close bond that existed between the two nations.

The Independence Anniversary Celebration's theme was "Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose," and other important dignitaries like Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, and others were there.

A noteworthy aspect of Ghana's independence is the nation's unwavering commitment to democratic government, notably in the last 30 years, which has resulted in political stability.

It is one of the few developing democracies that has established itself, having undergone one of the world's most seamless transitions to multiparty democracy during the previous three decades.
