John A. Kumah helps needy students.
Dr.John A. Kumah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, has provided scholarships to four brilliant but financially disadvantaged students in the constituency.
The beneficiaries, who were named the Municipality's overall best in the 2022 WASCE and BECE examinations, also received laptop computers and other educational materials from the MP.
Ms Athur Godslove and Patrick Agyekum Afriyie graduated from Ejisuman Senior High School.
Ms Arthur, a general science candidate, received the best female student award, while Afriyie, also a general science candidate, received the best male student award.
Master Adjei Nathaniel Jonathan and Maria Abdullah, who both graduated from the Ejisu M/A Model Junior High School with aggregates of six and seven, are the other recipients.
Jonathan attends Prempeh College, while Maria attends St. Louis Senior High School in Kumasi.
Dr. Kumah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Finance, made the announcement at the Municipality's 66th Independence Day parade in Ejisu.
He stated that he would bear the entire cost of the beneficiaries' tertiary education.
The Ejisu Municipal Assembly also presented certificates and an undisclosed sum of money to the students.
Master Patrick Agyekum Afriyie, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked both the Member of Parliament and the Ejisu Municipal Assembly for the support.
He stated that he was unable to attend university this year due to financial constraints and hoped that now that the MP had arrived, they would be able to attend university the following academic year.
Mr. Samuel Oduro Frimpong, MCE of Ejisu Municipal Assembly, stated that the assembly was doing everything possible to improve the standard of education in the area and advised parents to place a high value on their children's education.
Nana Yaa Asantewaa, Queen Mother of the Ejisu traditional area, praised the parade organizers and urged residents to live in peace and harmony in order to accelerate the area's development.
