The Chief Executive Officer Of The Africa Centre For Security And Intelligence Studies (ACSIS) Mr.Paul Coonley Boateng has added his reaction to the Ghana Armed Forces invading Ashaikan over the death of troop Sherif Imoro was beaten and stabbed to death by some unknown thugs in Ashaiman after he was granted pass at work by his superior to go see his mum. MR. Paul could warn civilians against the constant attack on law enforcement individuals who are in uniforms.

He further added that, when an officer in various law enforcement agencies are attacked while in uniform, they feel disrespected and belittled, which causes them to respond in any way they feel their rights. He emphasized that particular point by using the military invasion in Ashaiman with Armored cars and helicopters as an example. He spoke in an interview on Neat FM on March 8, 2023.

“I’m not surprised, he said of the swoop before

adding: "because for the security services,

wherever things like this (attack) happen, we

must expect collateral damage.

"We witnessed a similar incident at Denkyira

Obuasi. And it is not about the military alone that

engages in actions like this. All the security

services in uniform do the same when a colleague

of theirs is attacked in uniform.

"When such things happen, they feel belittled and

disrespected because they're protecting us.

They've undergone thorough training to defend

us, so for a civilian to have that courage and

murder one of them, it becomes a headache for

the service," he said in explaining the action of

the military at Ashaiman.

The invasion of the military led to the arrest of about 184 civilians of the Ashaiman community who will hp are and finding out the exact people responsible for the death of the soldier. However, the commander if the Ghana Armed Forces released a press statement revealing that, the invasion of the soldiers in Ashaiman was not an act of revenge but rather a way of finding out the culprits.
