On the 7th of March, 2023, there was a massive military invasion at the Ashaiman and Taifa over the death of military personnel Sherif Imoro who was beaten and stabbed multiple times leading to death by some unknown thugs in Ashaiman. In the course of the invasion, innocent civilians were brutalized by the military. The military at the end of the invasion was able to apprehend about 184 civilians who according to the military they would help them find the culprits who committed the murder.

The invasion sparked a whole lot of controversies with individuals sharing their candid opinion, some applauded the military for their bravery and others condemned their actions for taking matters into their hands. Many suggested that the military should have left the police to do their job in finding the culprits. However, the commander of the Ghana Armed Forces releases a press statement addressing the public that, the military invasion in Ashaiman was not an act of revenge but rather a way of finding those who committed the act.

Today, the 9th of March, 2023, new information reaching us has it that, out of the 184 civilians arrested by the military, 150 of them have already been released to go home, this was revealed by the member of parliament for Ashaiman Ernest Henry Norgbey. He further added that he met with those released as well as their families so he is very sure and confident of what he is saying.

"Out of the 184 suspects, 150 have been released

as we speak now, we have about 34 still with the

military, which they say they are still screening

them. So, by the close of tomorrow (March 9), We

will know whatever outcome will come out from

the screening.

"I just met that 150 including their family

calming situations down and then assuring them

that we are taking charge of the situation and

also, none of them should take the law into their

hands," he revealed this in an interview with Accra-based tv station TV3.
