Hi
my lovelies, your girl is back again because why not, right? Today we will be
looking at our skin and how to improve it.
Lets
be honest, we have all, and I mean all, caught a glimpse of ourselves in the
mirror, especially when the sun hits at the right spot and gone ‘damn I look
good’.
Rightfully
so I say but as you’re basking in the glorious sun you notice a few bumps,
wrinkles or creases that were not there before and start to panic, wondering
how you did not even notice when this happened to your skin but fret not your
girl is here to help.
There
are so many ways to take care of your skin that does not involve overly priced
skincare products, even though it is good to have a good skin routine with good
products.
However
lets be honest, we can’t all afford those prices especially in this
debilitating economy. So in light of this lets look at the ways we can take
care of our skin to get the glow we all deserve to have;
Hydration:
One of the most essential things for healthy skin is staying hydrated. I
know I know you’ve heard it a million times but there’s a reason it’s said
so much. Water is great not only for your body but your skin as well. Drinking
plenty of water throughout the day helps to keep your skin moisturized,
which can prevent dryness and flakiness. Dehydrated skin can appear dull
and lackluster, while well-hydrated skin is plump and radiant.
Sun
Protection: As the saying goes ‘too much of everything is bad’, so as good
as the sun is for your skin, overexposure can also damage your skin. A
lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin
problems - as well as increase the risk of skin cancer. This applies to
every skin color, (my fellow dark and brown skin people who think they’re
safe). With that said here are some ways you can protect yourself from the
sun while still enjoying the full benefits of the vitamin D it gives. Sun
protection is crucial for keeping your skin healthy and preventing skin
damage. Applying sunscreen with at least SPF 30 before going outside and
reapplying throughout the day is an essential step in protecting your
skin.
Antioxidants:
Antioxidants are substances that protect your skin from damage caused by
free radicals, which are molecules that can harm skin cells. Antioxidants
can be found in many foods such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts. Adding
these foods to your diet can help to protect your skin and improve its
overall health.
Moisturizers:
Using a good quality moisturizer can help to keep your skin hydrated and
prevent dryness. Moisturizers work by trapping water in your skin, which
can help to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. It's important to choose a
moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type, so it doesn't cause
irritation or breakouts.
Exfoliation:
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of
your skin. This can help to improve the texture and appearance of your
skin, making it look smoother and brighter. However, it's important to exfoliate
gently to avoid damaging your skin.
Sleep:
Getting enough sleep is essential for healthy skin. During sleep, your
body repairs and regenerates skin cells, so it's important to get at least
7-8 hours of sleep each night. Lack of sleep can cause dark circles under
the eyes, fine lines, and a dull complexion.
There
are many things that are good for the skin. Staying hydrated, protecting your
skin from the sun, using moisturizers and exfoliants, and getting enough sleep
are all essential steps in maintaining healthy, glowing skin. By incorporating
these practices into your daily routine, you can improve your skin's overall
health and appearance.
