International Women's Day was celebrated by several organizations throughout the world, including Global Media Alliance (GMA), a prominent integrated media and entertainment firm and the parent company of Happy FM, eTV Ghana, and YFM.

"DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality" will be the focus of the 2023 International Women's Day.

A thought-provoking dialogue featuring only women was held at the Silverbird Cinemas to commemorate the GMA event, which had as its theme "Capitalizing on Technology to Position and Improve Yourself." Pearl Nkrumah, Executive Director, Retail & Digital Banking at Access Bank, served as the guest speaker.

The Retail Executive encouraged all women to aspire and to create their ambitions with tenacity while sharing her corporate career journey and experiences in the digital world. She added that technological tools are not gender sensitive as a result.

"Women who want to learn about these technologies may do so without any barriers."

Despite the challenging limitations they face, the businesswoman advised women to have greater confidence in who they are and what they do.

"Occasionally, we are constrained by ourselves or even our loved ones. Others may advise you against using the gender card as an excuse whenever you decide to accomplish something, especially if you want to advance in your career or at your place of employment. It is about time we ignore all those setbacks and go towards our objectives, she repeated.

The Chief Director of GMA, Ms. Emma Wenani, said that this year's International Women's Day event has an uplifting and a call to action for us, as women, to take use of technology advancements and complete our goals. Women make unique contributions and play distinctive roles in society.

She also exhorted her female coworkers to show off their talents and persevere to realize their goals.

Funmi Onuma, the country manager for Silverbird Cinemas, and Fafa Gbeho, the head of human resources at GMA, were among the women who attended the event from the different GMA Group companies.

A Twitter Space on "Championing Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality" was held later that day by Global Media Alliance.

Humans come from a variety of backgrounds, therefore "We need to embrace equity," stated Daniella Darlington, Co-Founder of Copianto AI.

to encourage women and girls to use the skills and resources available to them, particularly in the field of technology.

Regarding measures to enhance gender parity, Rhoda N. Y. Odoi, CEO of Hypenet Digital and HugeStudios Printing Press, claimed that social media platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram have allowed women to better express themselves and show off their work and portfolios. The key is how you place yourself; the platform is there.

Key takeaways from the day's discussions included the call for women to rise and claim their proper positions in society, women owning their space in the digital world, and the push to be courageous enough to aspirationally and successfully achieve their goals and dreams while utilizing social media for these purposes.

Every year on March 8, people throughout the world recognize and celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness of gender inequality and discrimination, and encourage worldwide support for women.
