NATIONAL SECURITY SHOULD ANSWER HOW ONE OF ITS OPERATIVE, FATAWU NAMBE DIED IN THE BATTLEFIELD IN BAWKU

Kusaug Youth Movement (KYM), wishes to call on government and in particular, National Security Agency to, as a matter of urgency, investigate into the death of an employee of the National Security Operative by name FATAWU NAMBE, a Bawku Mamprusi boy. He died during an exchange of gun fire, fighting for his kinsmen in Bawku.
Friends of the media, you will recalled that since November 2021, we have had cause to complain severally to the authorities about the involvement of one Fatawu Nambe, a National Security Operative in the Bawku conflict. Fatawu Nambe used the power the State conferred on him as a National Security Operative to support his tribesmen, the Mamprusis to exact torture and brutalities against Kusaas and other tribes he believed supported the Kusaas. Our complains and public outcry to National Security and other law enforcement agencies to arrest and prosecute him all fell on deaf ears. By the silence of the law enforcement agencies, Fatawu Nambe was emboldened to continue terrorizing Kusaas and other tribes he saw as supporters of Kusaas. A case in point is the killing of a pregnant woman by name Rukaya Awudu at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku on the night of 28th December, 2021. Fatawu Nambe, in the company of one Salim Sumbaida, widely known as Prince attacked and brutally killed the pregnant woman because of her inability to disclose the house of one David, the target of Fatawu Nambe and his accomplices. The gruesome murder of Madam Rukaya caused the Queen Mothers of Kusaug Traditional Area and the Kusaug Youth Movement to address separate press conferences in which they called for the arrest of Fatawu Nambe and his accomplishes. Fatawu Nambe was left off the hook and he continued his evil ways.
Friends of the media, as a National Security Operative, the modus operandi of Fatawu Nambe was to fabricate stories to implicate Kusaas and use same to get the Military to move to areas predominantly inhabited by Kusaas to brutalize innocent people, in some cases leading to maiming and deaths. He used this strategy in a number of instances to create opportunities for the Mamprusis to attack Kusaas. We strongly believe that Fatawu Nambe had a hand in the recent barbaric killings of innocent unarmed civilians by the Military at Zoogin, a suburb of Bawku.
Friends in the media, ladies and gentlemen. For the National Security and all those who doubted our accusations, we have heard through media reportage that Fatawu Nambe died along other Mamprusi fighters on the night of 8th February, 2023. We are reliably informed that he died on the battlefield. Since we have no reason to doubt the media reportage, we have only three questions that require answers from the National Security and other law enforcement agencies:
1. What was Fatawu Nambe doing on the battlefield alongside Mamprusi fighters?
2. Was he on deployment by the National Security alongside his tribesmen?
3. If yes to 2, under whose command was he deployed?
4. Was Fatawu Nambe recruited by government and for that matter, National Security to do the bidding of the Bawku Mamprusis in this conflict?
With the above questions, we are calling on the National Security to thoroughly investigate the involvement of the late Fatawu Nambe and other Operatives working under the auspices of the National Security to commit crimes and lawlessness in Bawku. Do the loud silence of the National security and government, on the death of this unprofessional and blood loving National Security manslayer, a sign of endorsement of his barbaric, heinous act?
We strongly belief and convinced that, the many other Bawku Mamprusis men and women who are still in the Ghana Security services, be it National security apparatus or other security agencies, have dirty and criminal roles playing in fomenting the continuous troubles in Bawku and its surroundings. The earlier the authorities of National Security profile their data and thoroughly monitor their activities, the better for the people of Bawku and Ghanaians in general.
We demand justice for all those who lost their lives or got maimed as a result of the evil activities of late Fatawu Nambe and his cohorts. We believe justice for those people will lead to the restoration of peace in Bawku.
