Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti
According to reports, Real Madrid are valuing two daring attacks on Tottenham and Newcastle for a pair signed for a total of £100m, and a special deal is on the way.
The Premier League's financial surge has largely prevented Real Madrid from poaching the league's best stars in recent years. The days of Los Blancos arbitrarily trapping Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard are long gone.
However, according to two separate reports, the Spanish giants are once again targeting EPL talent, but this time at mid-range prices.
First, the Telegraph is talking about a future move to the Bernabeu for Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle's talisman. The Magpies midfielder was a find at St. James' Park since he arrived from Lyon for £40m to start 2022.
The Telegraph notes that Newcastle are close to agreeing a new and improved deal with the Guimaraes. However, this may simply delay the inevitable.
It has been suggested that the Brazilian's long stay at Newcastle may depend on whether he can quickly become a Champions League regular. If they could not cross that bridge, Guimaraes would have no shortage of suitors capable of meeting his demands. Chelsea, Man City and PSG all made a profit. However, according to the Telegraph, Carlo Ancelotti's move to Real Madrid is seen as the 'most possible destination' for Guimaraes.
The report states:
“Real Madrid is another club that has helped the 25-year-old from Rio de Janeiro shine and have also followed him during his time in France.
"There are people around the player who want to see him play for the Spanish giants and in many ways this is his most likely destination when he leaves Newcastle."
With an extension in Tyneside coming up, the Guimaraes are unlikely to go anywhere this summer. However, his future after the next campaign looks like he could take up residence in Madrid. Real also wants a Tottenham striker
In another development, the Spanish newspaper AS took Real to follow in the footsteps of Tottenham's leader, Richarlison.
The former Everton favorite was a £60m signing (including add-ons) in the summer but has enjoyed a disappointing and injury-filled first season with Spurs .
He recently described his season as 'bad' and was denied his first league goal for Spurs by narrowest margin in Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest.
AS reports that Real are looking to the future with Karim Benzema starting to battle an injury, now 35.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are in high demand, although both will be extremely difficult - and expensive - to sign. Richarlison is a more accessible and cheaper option in their sights and his 10 goals in 10 appearances for Brazil in 2022 while playing at centre-back shows he can become strong. strong when surrounded by 'elite' players.
Whether Tottenham are ready to get rid of Richarlison just a year after his arrival is yet to be speculated on in the report. Common sense would suggest that their decision would largely depend on the size of an actual offer, as well as what happens to Harry Kane.
If Kane is sold - potentially to Man Utd - the club will find it difficult to let Richarlison leave.
Despite being questioned during his first season with Tottenham, Richarlison is also attracting growing interest from Juventus.
