John Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor, farmer, and philanthropist. He is well known for his acting skills and he has appeared in several Ghanaian movies.

John joined Joy 99.7 FM's Super Morning Show on the phone to share his opinion on ‘How will you describe the Ghanaian man’. The Super Morning Show is hosted by Mamavi Owusu Aboagye, Kojo Yankson, and Winston Amoah. They discuss critical and trending issues in Ghana. The conversation took place on March 10, 2023, and the discussion attracted interesting responses from listeners. John stated that Ghanaian men were respectful, generous, loving, appreciative, and risk-takers. He elaborated on what he said.

“The reason why I said we are generous with an asterisk is that some people will argue that Ghanaian men are stingy and so on and so forth. Naa, I don't think it's that. I think that we look at things and analyze things before we decide to be generous. That's what I feel. Respectful because of our cultural values or how we were brought up. Of course, we respect a lot of women. Majority of Ghanaian men respect women a lot. As for the loving and being risk takers, I mean men are risk takers generally. We would like to take a lot of risks. If it backfires, fine. If it doesn't, we move on and applaud ourselves. All in all, typical Ghanaian man is a nine over ten person”, John said.

The discussion was linked to romantic relationships and listeners had a lot to share. People have different ways of describing others and they are shaped by experiences too. You may not agree with John because your experience and situation are different. I think every Ghanaian woman wants a man with the qualities John talked about. John’s words sound positive which means most Ghanaian men are doing a good job. Keep up the good work.
