This Saturday, the Jefferson Care Health for All Program provided free enrollment into the National Health Insurance Plan to 276 inhabitants of the Ablekuma Central constituency in the Greater Accra region.
Jefferson Kwamena Sackey, the Deputy Director of Communications at the President's Office, launched the initiative to help locals, particularly the New Patriotic Party's coordinators and council of patrons and elders (NPP).
NHIS
The NHIS team went from village to community registering people, and at Laterbiokorshie, 166 people as well as 40 more from neighboring communities were registered.
The Ablekuma Central constituency's polling station managers and NPP members are given priority in the Jefferson Care Health for All Program.
Members took turns signing up, renewing, and replacing their lost NHIS identity cards throughout the activity.
A beneficiary, Richard Kumah, expressed joy at the decision by Mr. Sackey to use his own resources to enable them to register and for others to renew their NHIS and prayed for God's blessings on his life, adding that "may all his ambitions come true.".
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mr. Sackey stated that he saw health and education as two important areas where the constituents may benefit.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, he added, the program will be repeated in the Mambrouk Electoral Area to register inhabitants there.
3000 books
Mr. Sackey contributed 3,000 practice books in January of this year to be given to students in the Ablekuma Central constituency of Accra.
The action is part of his comprehensive initiative, "Education Support Plan," which he established to help local kids, notably those of the NPP polling station executives in the constituency.
After the presentation, Mr. Sackey spoke with the Daily Graphic about his 30-year residence in the region, his election history there, and his belief that parents should be encouraged to provide their kids with a high-quality education.
He claimed that he had always thought that the local youth would eventually rise to become the region's leaders. He claimed that he had always thought that the local youth would develop into the country's future leaders, occupying important roles in both business and governmental settings.
He claimed that everyone should encourage others to pursue their goals.
