After a "major issue" in testing, EA Sports postpones the release of FIFA 23 for the NWSL and UWCL
FIFA 23's inclusion of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) has been delayed by EA Sports.
It was revealed last week that EA would be adding the NWSL and the UWCL to FIFA 23 in order to increase the variety of women's football available to players. The American league and the European Cup competition were initially planned to be added to the game today. Kick Off was going to add all 12 National Women's Soccer League teams to FIFA 23.
Online friendlies, Head-to-Head and Co-op Seasons, and Tournament Mode are available.
But, due to a problem discovered during the testing of their most recent title update, EA stated last night that the release dates for both the NWSL and UWCL had been postponed to Thursday, March 23.
The NWSL and UWCL will now be accessible in FIFA 23 by March 23, according to an announcement from developer EA Sports' FIFA Direct Communications Twitter account.
The NWSL and UWCL will now be available in FIFA 23 by March 23, according to a statement from an official EA Spokesperson that was provided to Mirror Gaming. "These partnerships are an important part of our ongoing commitment to elevate and accurately represent women's football, and we look forward to welcoming them into the game," the spokesperson said. We apologize for the trouble this may have caused.
Many fans were thrilled by the new improvements to women's football in-game when EA announced that the NWSL and UWCL will be coming to FIFA 23.
The Women's Super League (WSL), Division 1 Arkema, and a few international teams are the only women's leagues now playable in FIFA 23, therefore the announcement of the largest women's club tournament and one of the biggest women's leagues is huge.
In order to increase the number of teams available to use in the women's Champions League, EA announced that Real Madrid, Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, and Juventus will all be added to a "Rest of the World" league in FIFA 23. The new competition will be playable in Kick-Off and Tournament mode. On Thursday, March 23, both tournaments will be debuted together with four NWSL stadiums, authentic uniforms, starheads, trophies, and celebrations.
Women's Career Mode or Ultimate Team are on many people's wishlists for EA Sports FC, EA's upcoming football game, which is anticipated to be released later this year. At the moment, players can only use women's teams in a limited number of game modes in FIFA 23. These new FIFA 23 features may be a hint that EA Sports FC may feature more women's football in the future.
