According to a reporter, a key Liverpool transfer target is now "very likely" to leave after the announcement of a recent big move.

Jurgen Klopp's side are on a mission to overhaul their squad this summer as part of a rebuild to get the club back fighting for titles.

One area that has come under constant criticism this season has been midfield and improving it is a priority for Liverpool.

It was recently reported that the possibility of one of their targets, Mason Mount, leaving Chelsea after negotiations over a new contract stalled.

With his current contract set to expire in 2024, the Blues won't want to risk losing him on a free transfer, so they could be making their money soon. What is the update?

Reporter Fabrizio Romano (via Matt Hughes) has updated Mount's future and confirmed the England manager has appointed a new agent.

Posting on Twitter, he said:

"Mason Mount have now appointed Neil Fewings as their new agent, a deal agreed a few weeks ago - understanding he will most likely leave Chelsea in July."

The breaking news will drive Liverpool fans into a frenzy as it means the Red Devils could sign him for a reduced price.

Klopp has also made the move to prioritize teenage sensation Jude Bellingham so the British duo can unite.

Chelsea have splurged in the last two transfer windows and they have struggled to keep players satisfied. Mount has been with the club throughout his career so seeing him play for another top club would be strange, but it's a decision he may need to make. continue to develop.

The 24-year-old was recently left out of Chelsea's squad when they faced Leicester City due to a contract dispute and it looks unlikely that will be resolved anytime soon.

Should he decide to leave, Liverpool will have to compete with Manchester United and Newcastle, who could award the midfielder a Champions League spot.
