Danny Gabbidon praised Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka on BBC Sport for his Premier League goal against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in north London on Sunday afternoon.

The former Wales international defender was extremely impressed with Xhaka when he scored Arsenal's third goal in the London derby against Palace.

The £30m Swiss international midfielder (Sky Sports) netted in the 55th minute of the Premier League game.

Leandro Trossard played beautifully to let Xhaka cross behind the Palace defence.

And this midfielder scored in the net despite falling to the ground after a tackle. Compliments for Arsenal midfielder Grant Xhaka against Crystal Palace

Gabbidon says:

"It was a very tense start to the game with offside so he was going to be checked, but Xhaka started to move and finish. He got past Tomkins's other side.

"Great move, just pick Xhaka's position, he's almost like a striker. He doesn't stand still, he just keeps going and has a bit of luck on the finish line.

Important victory for the Gunners

In our opinion, Arsenal's win over Crystal Palace means a lot to the Gunners in their quest to win the Premier League this season.

Currently, the Gunners are firmly in control of the Premier League title race. Manchester City will not easily make it difficult for Arsenal in the final weeks and months of the season.

However, Arsenal can now be less worried.

The Gunners entered the international break with a very good lead in the table.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will make it clear to his players that they cannot be complacent after the break, but things are looking very bright for them.
