Auction of shirts worn by Chelsea against Everton to help complete Christian Atsu's school project in Ghana
To raise funds for the completion of a school in Ghana built by the late Christian Atsu, Chelsea FC have announced that the jerseys their players wore against Everton will be auctioned off.
Atsu, who has played for both Chelsea and Everton throughout his career, was a member of Chelsea for five years but never played for their first team before moving to Everton.
A match between two of Atsu's former clubs took place in the Premier League on Saturday, the match ending in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
According to a statement from Chelsea, the jerseys and other items worn by the players will be auctioned to raise funds to complete Atsu's school project.
The money raised will go to Arms Around the Child, a charity of which Christian is an ambassador, and it will fund the completion of the school they have begun building in his hometown of Ghana. ,” announced the club. "The auction, which includes signed jerseys from the entire team as well as many items from the club's legends, will run until 2pm on April 8."
