Bruno Fernandes tops list of Europe's most overworked players

Bruno Fernandez has been officially declared the most overworked footballer in Europe's top five leagues this season.

No outfielder has played more than a Manchester United midfielder.

Barcelona have been unable to find a player of consistent form at right-back since the departure of Dani Alves in 2016, and that search will continue this summer. However, loaned Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo is most likely to leave this summer.

It is believed Barcelona could be interested in Cancelo on loan this summer as they are looking for a reasonable option to take the job. If Jules Koundé has played well there this season, the French defender has made no secret that he prefers playing at centre-back.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana has not made contact with Cancelo, despite his clear form at Camp Nou. Joao Cancelo has yet to start a regular starter for Bayern Munich.

"Barca have a great relationship with Joao Mendes' agent but things will not be decided at the moment. Bayern and Cancelo will talk at the end of the season, Joao is currently 100% focused on FC Bayern.

Romano commented on his exclusive Side Stack column with Caught Offside. Cancelo was loaned to Bayern Munich in January with an option to buy for 70 million euros but it is unclear if the German team will activate him. After losing his place under Pep Guardiola this season, it seems unlikely he will return to Manchester City either.
