Man City supporters brutally trolled for one of the 'worst chants' of all time, rival fans are calling it 'cringe'

Manchester City fans have been told they are "probably the worst chanters" after footage emerged of them chanting "horrific" during matches.

The defending Premier League champions are putting pressure on the top team Arsenal in the fierce title race, although they are eight points behind.

Pep Guardiola's men also reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup after a resounding 6-0 victory over Burnley in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

And City are still competing in the Champions League this season after a ruthless 7-0 win in the second leg of the round of 16 against RB Leipzig, with Guardiola's side facing Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

With City still set to win some major trophies before the season ends, fans were cruelly mocked after one of their chants went viral on social media. In the images viewable in the video player above, fans can be heard saying:

“Something is happening, it is happening to me.

“I spent all my money on drugs and into town. Sorry. I want to follow you everywhere. Sorry. I want to follow you everywhere. Du-du-du-du-du-du-du.

"This might be the worst hymn I've ever heard," one fan tweeted.

Another commented:

"Half-commitment actually makes the situation worse."

The third added:

"Without [a] doubt the worst song [I] have ever heard."

"What a shame. Talk about taking drugs and what the hell is that? Cringing," a fourth person posted. And a fifth wrote:

"It's horrible, my words."

“Singing Cringe, NGL,” wrote one Twitter user.

Man City will return to action after the international break when they welcome Premier League rivals Liverpool to the Etihad on April 1.

Manchester City's main player has just suffered an injury, he was excluded from international duty

Manchester City star Erling Haaland has abandoned international duty with Norway in a move that could give Arsenal title hopes.

The Daily Mail reports that the star striker will miss Norway's upcoming qualifiers because of a groin injury.

Haaland scored a hat-trick for City against Burnley at the weekend as Arsenal extended their Premier League lead.

Mikel Arteta's men will travel to the Etihad next month for a game that could decide the direction of the championship.

Guardiola will be delighted that the extraordinary Norwegian is on his way back to the club.

The last thing he wants is for Haaland to risk making matters worse this week.

Mikel Arteta may have been hoping that Martin Odegaard could keep an eye on the striker during his absence from Norway.

Both are die-hard fans of each other, but will soon face off on the pitch.

Man City star Haaland suffered an injury in the Arsenal championship race

The Daily Mail reports that "Erling Haaland will miss Norway's upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia after sustaining a groin injury." "A statement from the Norwegian Football Association confirmed that the national team's doctors advised Haaland to return to Man City and 'receive medical observation at the club'."

Manchester City has no shortage of other options, Haaland does not miss any action for his club.

Julian Alvarez is a very capable assistant, otherwise Guardiola could start over with a false 9.

Arsenal will know they no longer need to rely on Manchester City's lost points in the title race.

It's really in their hands, but Haaland's injury could tilt the title race in Arsenal's favor.

Most likely, Haaland just withdrew from the squad as a precaution. However, Man City have more matches than Arsenal this season in all competitions.

Losing their star at the end of the Premier League and Champions League would be a heavy loss.
