Mason Mount's Chelsea contract is slated to expire at the end of the upcoming season, and a number of teams have been rumored to be interested in signing the midfielder.
In the race to recruit Mason Mount, Liverpool has surpassed Arsenal and Tottenham, which is happening despite a dispute with Chelsea. The 24-year-future old's at Stamford Bridge is becoming more uncertain since he has now entered the final 18 months of his contract.
Football.london is aware that Mount hasn't yet committed his long-term future to the Blues, and that talks have been challenging enough that he may have hired a new agent, Neil Fewings, to assist put the situation to rest. Despite making 192 Premier League games and earning multiple England caps, the midfielder is not among Chelsea's highest paid employees.
In June 2024, Mount will be free to quit the west London organization if the parties are unable to agree on a new contract. The Cobham graduate will be available in the meantime for a discounted rate, and several elite clubs have already expressed interest in him.
Football.london is aware that Mount has long been a favorite of Liverpool, and that both Manchester City and Manchester United are rumored to be keeping an eye on the issue. Additionally, Betfair reports that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to finally welcome his target to Anfield as things stand.
The Merseyside team is the 7/4 favorite to sign Mount according to Betfair. Tottenham (7/1) and Manchester United (7/1) are among potential suitors, with Arsenal the 6/1 second-favorite.
Betfair has also predicted the signing of Mount for Man City (16/1), Paris Saint-Germain (25/1) and Inter Milan (33/1); however, these predictions are not entirely accurate. Graham Potter disclosed that he spoke with the Chelsea star about his condition after learning about the player's recent media attention.
The Blues manager stated, "In the end, it's between the club and Mason. "I've had several conversations with him about his circumstances, football, and life in general.
"As I said, it's obvious how I feel about Mason. He is a terrific individual, in my opinion. Sometimes these situations arise; they are only complicated, therefore it is better if I briefly discuss them before letting both parties go on.
"I'm not naive; I understand that this is a crucial moment for him, that the contract is crucial, and that these decisions must be appropriate for him and his family. It's critical that he base his judgment on that."
After that, when asked how he plans to keep Mount pleased, Potter responded, "He wants to play just like everyone else. He currently has a minor injury, so it will probably take a little longer for him to recover and be fully accessible.
