According to reports, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has intensified his attacks on a prominent rival for the White House and taken aim at Donald Trump's "daily drama."
In an interview, Mr. DeSantis poked fun at his fellow Republican's legal woes and said, "stay tuned" about his rumored presidential ambitions.
He criticized the "underlying conduct" behind Mr. Trump's alleged affair with a porn star in veiled terms.
In preparation for the race for the White House in 2024, the rivals have been shadowboxing.
Allies of Trump criticized Mr. DeSantis' most recent remarks on Tuesday. The majority of prominent members of the Republican Party have expressed their support for Mr. Trump, who is currently facing legal challenges. A grand jury in New York is debating whether to bring charges against the former president for allegedly paying an adult film actress in 2016 to conceal their alleged affair.
Mr. DeSantis promised in an interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored that will air on Thursday that if he runs for president, he could defeat President Joe Biden.
Seeing his meeting, the Fox Country have said that when he requested that Mr DeSantis balance his style with Mr Trump's, the Florida lead representative said: " I believe that the way the government is run here avoids daily drama, focuses on the big picture, and scores points.
When asked about Mr. Trump's nicknames for him, such as "Meatball Ron" and "Ron DeSanctimonious," he stated, It's just background noise to me.
"It doesn't matter if I fight with people on social media. It does nothing to benefit the people I represent."
Mr. DeSantis stated that there had been "a lot of speculation about what the underlying conduct is" regarding the hush money payment made by a former Trump fixer to porn star Stormy Daniels. "That is said to be it, but in reality, that is far beyond my capabilities. That simply isn't something about which I can speak.
Mr. DeSantis enraged Trump supporters on Monday by saying: I have no idea what goes into paying a porn star hush money to silence rumors of an alleged affair.
A Trump spokesperson stated on Tuesday night that the most recent criticism demonstrated that Mr. DeSantis has "terrible political instincts."
"Governor DeSantis is choosing to go off half-cocked and take shots on some low-rent vlog," Taylor Budowich tweeted. "While the entire conservative movement is united against the unjust indictment of President Donald Trump," Budowich said.
The elder son of the former president, Donald Trump Jr., accused Mr. DeSantis of attacking Mr. Trump "pathetically" "on orders" from the Republican "establishment."
