After going three seasons without winning the league championship, Xavi Hernandez was quite pleased with FC Barcelona's victory over Real Madrid, which puts them very close to doing so. The native of Terrassa emphasized that Barça was better than Real Madrid: "It's a well-earned and significant triumph. We were significantly better than Real Madrid, and the outcome is what it should have been. We prevailed because we had more opportunities and were superior to them. It's a victory that greatly boosts our confidence and spirit."

The Blaugrana coach praised his team for a well-played match: "Since everyone is working so hard, I'm quite satisfied. There isn't much publicity about our exceptional league season, and I'm really glad for my players because they take the flak. Against a superb squad that had been displaying all of its strength in the last few games, we gave it everything we had. Although Real Madrid is a side that constantly makes your life difficult, we knew how to play the game with maturity. Although we had lost to Real Madrid at home for the previous five years and had given up an undeserved goal, we were able to respond."

Xavi remembered: "We shouldn't lose sight of our origins. Real Madrid was 15 points ahead of us the previous season; today we are 12 points behind them. It's time to assess the situation."

In this regard, he was taken aback by Carlo Ancelotti's reservations over the VAR's ruling: "It's a scientific subject, so I'm surprised Ancelotti has doubts about the goal that was disallowed. There is no denying that that is offside. It's a laugh if anyone still brings up the VAR nowadays. Offside is quite obvious."

Xavi acknowledged that he felt intense emotion during his first Clasico at Camp Nou as a coach: "I'm under more pressure than I ever was as a player, and there were numerous times when the tension and the way the game ended made me shiver. It was an ideal script ".

The Terrassa man gave the supporters a nod as well, emphasizing the bond they are developing with the team: "I recalled the match against Munich, where the supporters supported us all the way to the end despite the 0-3 final score. This triumph gave me chills because they deserved it. It's wonderful how well the squad gets along."

We don't feel like champions, but it's a really crucial step, said Xavi, who didn't want to take the victory for granted. Nonetheless, he did note the success of his club in the domestic competition: "We have scored many points. In actuality, we have only lost ten games throughout the entire league, and it is not accidental. We are playing excellent defense, and tonight we have also been excellent offensively ".

The two "heroes" of the evening, Franck Kessie and Sergi Roberto, were referred to by the Blaugrana coach as follows: "Up until the very last second, I was torn between the two. Those were the two choices, and both were successful. They both scored, winning the game. What to say about Sergi is beyond me. He is not valuable to us, but that is the terrible truth about this club. He has always set an excellent example, thus it is an honor to coach him."
