Injury updates for Arsenal Although versatile defender Tomiyasu won't be available for the duration of this season, Mikel Arteta is more optimistic about other injury issues.

Although many of their primary championship contenders will be working away from north London during the season's final international break, Arsenal will have a stressful fortnight. Managers in the Premier League have anxiety during this period because they have little control over the players chosen for their respective national teams.

On Sunday, the Gunners defeated Crystal Palace with excellent style despite being without a number of first-team injured players, such as Tomiyasu, William Saliba, and Eddie Nketiah. As the race for the championship intensifies over the season's busy final two months, Arteta will be hoping for better news on the arrival dates of Saliba and Nketiah.

Arteta's comments: "We anticipate that Willy [Saliba] will provide better news. Again, a clearer picture won't be available until tomorrow."

Date of anticipated return: Unknown

According to a statement from the club: "Tomi had successful surgery on Tuesday in London and won't be available for the rest of the campaign. To enable Tomi to participate in pre-season training ahead of the upcoming season, everyone at the club will now work arduously with him."

Arteta's comments: "We are unsure. The physician is evaluating. They should have another assessment tomorrow, in my opinion, since we already had one. It does not appear good. Tomi is not one to make dramatic claims. He expressed immediate worry, and we share that concern."

Date of anticipated return: June

Nketiah has made 33 appearances for Arsenal this season; his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in 2027. He has directly assisted 11 goals, four of which came in victories over West Ham, Brighton, and Manchester United during the hectic New Year's schedule.

What Nketiah said: Prior to the matchup against the Eagles, Nketiah posted a message on social media providing an encouraging update on his recuperation. "Grafting! *muscle emoji* #SoonBack," the Hale End alumnus wrote.

With the description "Rehab team, monster mindset *brain emoji* *finger point emoji*," Nketiah posted another shot to his Instagram account.

Arteta's comments: "He's improving, now. He remains inside the boot. We must exercise patience because he is still a few weeks away. He has a significant task as a result of the severe injuries. We are grateful that it wasn't worse. So, his situation is not dire."

Date of anticipated return: late March or early April

Elneny started and played the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup victory over Oxford United. The Egyptian was not included in Arteta's squad for the 2-0 victory at Tottenham, though, as a knee injury sustained in practice prior of the match was being evaluated. Furthermore, there was no space on the bench for the match against Manchester United.

The former Basel player will be sidelined for a lengthy amount of time, the club announced last month, though no timetable for his anticipated comeback was provided. Elneny has since signed a new contract with Arsenal as he nears a comeback.

Date of anticipated return: N/A
