A new project dubbed "TransforME Project" has been launched by ASUSTEM Robotics Academy, a non-profit organization that seeks to inspire kids, young people, and adults on a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects through projects in robotics, engineering, computer coding, and tech modules.

The TransforME project, which is being hosted in collaboration with Asustem Robotics and Lenovo, a renowned computer firm, aims to provide STEM education to young people and adults in the workforce while instilling the arts as a valuable learning tool in the twenty-first century.

Project's main goal

The project, which has as its theme "Developing the youth and working individuals in Ghana with 21st Century Job Skills," is being carried out in a road show across the 16 regions of the nation and is aimed at approximately 1,500 beneficiaries, including kids, young people, and adults in the workforce.

Robots, machine learning, Arduino, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, python programming, electronics, and website development will all be covered in the program modules.

A system Robotics Director of Operations and co-Founder, Nana Achiaa, spoke during the opening ceremony held in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Asumadu-Boateng stated, "Asustem is devoted to actively training kids, teenagers, and adults to meet cutting-edge technology, which is why our motto is, "Learn to Meet the Future."

Training Innovative Thinkers for Career Skills in the 21st Century by Encouraging Young Minds.

She added that the TransforME initiative aimed to stimulate young minds and foster the growth of imaginative thinkers who would be inventive and embrace new technological trends.

She expressed the expectation that after the full roadshow, participants will be more knowledgeable and motivated to advance their technical abilities and maybe launch their own enterprises.

Partners

On behalf of her organization, Mrs. Asumadu-Boateng thanked the local partners, the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) - Koforidua, Ghana Education Service, PeopleSence, Genius IT Foundation, and PWEB Consulting Group, for joining forces to support a worthy cause. She also thanked the international partners, Lenovo and Motorola.

David Asumadu-Boateng, founder and CEO of Asustem Robotics, stated: "Our objective is to develop and equip the young people of Africa by offering them useful STEM empowerment programs that will help them to be developers, imaginative thinkers, and innovators for the African continent.

As we prepare our project beneficiaries for various sectors in Ghana, we are presently looking for business partners to work with us on the TransforME project, he added.

Mr. Evans Korletey-Tene, the Eastern Regional Librarian for the Ghana Library Authority, spoke on behalf of the organization and stated that the authority's goal was to connect Ghanaians to knowledge resources. This goal was attained through the introduction of creative programs and partnerships with organizations like the Asustem Robotics Academy.
