UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR GHANAIAN STUDENTS

The UK government's effort to showcase the UK as an exceptional destination for tourism, education, and business is known as the GREAT Britain Campaign. Alongside this initiative, the British Council serves as a partner to heighten recognition and highlight the UK's strengths in the areas of education, the English language, and the arts. The GREAT Scholarships program, which is jointly financed by the UK government's GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and the University of Sussex, is a product of this collaboration.

BENEFIT: £ 10,000

This scholarship is a fee waiver and partnership as well.

                                         

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered eligible for the GREAT scholarships programme, you must meet the following criteria:


- Hold Ghanaian citizenship.

- Have been offered a place on an eligible Masters programme at Sussex, with priority given to those who have accepted an offer to study in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology.

- Possess outstanding academic grades.

- Demonstrate clear and specific goals that are linked to your course of study.

- Be willing to participate in networking events as part of the GREAT scholarships programme, where you will be expected to share your experiences and ambitions and explain how your studies in the UK can benefit both yourself and your home country.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?

The following programmes are not eligible for the GREAT scholarships programme:

- Postgraduate diplomas, including the CPE Common Professional Examination.

- Corruption, Law and Governance LLM, which is delivered in Qatar.

- Development Studies MA.

- Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher Status) MA.

- Globalisation, Business and Development MA.

- Governance, Development and Public Policy MA.

- Power, Participation and Social Change MA.

- Poverty and Development MA.

- Masters degree in Social Work, if receiving an NHS bursary.

- PGCE courses.

- Schools direct teaching courses.

- Any Masters degree funded by the research councils, such as those receiving ESRC 1+3 funding.

- Any Masters degree programme at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

                                                 

 DEADLINE: 15TH MAY, 2023.

HOW TO APPLY

In order to be eligible for the Sussex – GREAT Scholarship (Ghana), you must have received and accepted an offer for an eligible Masters program at Sussex. To apply for the scholarship, you will need to provide a statement detailing your academic interests, including information about your drive and ambition, potential for positive impact upon returning to your home country, and any relevant work experience, skills, or extracurricular activities related to your chosen course or ambitions.


To be considered for the scholarship, you must demonstrate excellent grades in your most recent qualification. You do not necessarily need to have completed your qualification, as conditional scholarship offers can be made.
