Thomas Partey and the club physio were despatched to Ghana by Arsenal in an effort to prevent the crucial player from getting hurt while serving his country.

After a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday, the Arsenal moved eight points ahead of Manchester City, despite the fact that the defending champions have a game in hand.

The Gunners' final match before the break was the triumph over Palace.

The 29-year-old Ghanaian star is anticipated to play back-to-back games against Angola on March 23 and 27 as the African Cup of Nations qualifying round continues.

Simon Murphy has been charged with keeping an eye on Partey in Africa to make sure he's healthy for the Premier League title chase.

Partey has played in 23 of Mikel Arteta's 28 games this season and has forged an important combination with Granit Xhaka in the middle of the midfield.

Chris Hughton, the manager of Ghana and the former head coach of Norwich and Brighton, explained his significance to both the club and the nation.

He declared: "Partey's job on the club is as a continuity player; he is not that player who will dribble past a number of opponents.

Even if he doesn't always stand out, his contribution to the team's work is significant.

As football fans, we occasionally assume that a player must necessarily fit the picture we have of him in an A team or a B squad.

Party plays different but equally important functions for both club and country.

Partey has missed five Arsenal Premier League games this season due to injury, and the Gunners have lost two of their three games during his absence.

In September, Arsenal fell 3-1 to Manchester United, and in February, they lost to City by the same score while he was away.

A minute before the Gunners' 1-0 loss to Everton in February, Partey was also replaced.

Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury, the Premier League leaders have already struck a blow to Arsenal.

Tomiyasu underwent surgery on Tuesday after participating in 21 league games this year.

In a statement, the club said: "Subsequent evaluations have established that Takehiro Tomiyasu sustained a major injury to his right knee following his substitute during last Thursday's Europa League encounter.

Tomi underwent successful surgery on Tuesday in London and will be out for the rest of the campaign.

To get Tomi ready for preseason practice before the upcoming season, "everyone at the club will now be working hard with Tomi."

William Saliba, a crucial center back, missed Arsenal's 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace as well after getting hurt against Sporting.
