Our kind of love and Depression among the Youth
Love they say is “a range of strong, positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublimed virtues or good habits, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasures. In my opinion, I’ll say Love is unlikely in this our generation.
I say this because, we have broken hearted people all over the world who in the the name of getting “healed out of their past relationship,” force themselves into new relationships and sometimes getting some materialistic stuffs such as money and sexual exploitation in their new relationship. So then, where’s is the love?,where are the emotions my generation? Love’s not always about relationship it’s most more of living peaceful with everyone around you.In our generation, the moment you don’t love someone, it means you hate that individual. We’re in moments in which we no longer care about what our fellows are going through. Some of the people around us suffer depression and anxiety. Some end up dying for this simply because they didn’t get anyone to comfort or advise them. I guess my readers now understand why I termed LOVE as unlikely? In my writing, I want to focus more on depression among the youths. There are many forms of depression but I want to focus more on Clinical Depression also called Major Depression. It is a state of mental health disorder characterised by persistently depressed mood or lose of interest in activities causing significant impairment in daily life. There's no single cause of depression. It can occur for a variety of reasons and it has many different triggers. For some people, an upsetting or stressful life event, such as bereavement, divorce, illness, redundancy and job or money worries, can be the cause. Different causes can often combine to trigger depression. Anyone who has experienced depression knows that it can affect your everyday life, and can have serious consequences. This is especially true for teens. Teens are considered to be highly susceptible to depression. Depression can lead to prolonged suffering that can impact them well into adulthood. The distressing thing is that teen depression is incredibly common.
In fact, “The total number of teenagers who recently experienced depression increased 59% between 2007 and 2017.” When you add up all the data, 1 in 5 adolescents from all walks of life will suffer from depression at some point during their teen years.”
Unfortunately, when left untreated depression can worsen. It can even turn into a persistent depressive disorder. It impacts everything from relationships to school to work. It can even change how you feel, how much you sleep, and whether you can get out of bed in the morning. Tragically depression all too often ends in suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, or suicide. Increasing rates of teen depression are one of the main reasons that suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds. What a scary statistic. Just more proof that depression in teens is a real issue and that you should take your child seriously when they say things like “I want to end it all” or “I can’t take this life anymore.”
How do we solve this among our Youth? Our future leaders, Our new Generation.
One of the ways by which we can avoid depression is Exercise. Take a 15- to 30-minute brisk walk every day. Or you can dance, play a sport, stretch, or do yoga. People who are depressed may not feel much like being active. Try to get yourself to do it anyway. If you need a push, ask a friend to exercise with you. Getting any activity started helps boost your mood. Keep it going.Secondly Express yourself. With depression, your creativity and sense of fun may seem blocked. But it can help to do things that get your creative juices flowing. Paint, draw, or doodle. Sew, cook, or bake. Write, dance, or compose music. Chat with a friend or play with a pet. Find something to laugh about. Watch a funny movie. Do things you can enjoy. Even a little. That helps turn depression around and the last but not the least, Don't dwell on problems. It can feel good to talk through a problem with a caring friend. But depression can lead people to complain, blame, and rehash problems too much. It can keep you focused on what's wrong.
It's OK to air your thoughts and feelings with people who care. But don't let problems be all you talk about. Talk about some good things too. Try to turn your negative thoughts into more positive ones. This can help your mood become more positive. This is just some few ways of overcoming Depression. Thank you readers, Thanks to the Most High God for knowledge.
