Chapter 4 

For two good months, my boss was still pestering me with his comments which made me uncomfortable. I�d rather think he�s a womanizer than believe he was really into me. He became a pain in the neck at work: giving me a lot of work to do and occasionally taking me on long trips so he could try to convince me. Before you say I have a choice, let me remind you that I am his personal assistant,  hence, wherever he goes, I go with him. That�s what I�m paid to do. 

There was a day that he almost kissed me when he intentionally got out of the car, locked it, came to my end and opened it. I thought that was all until he opened the door and came leaning in on me. Thankfully, a man he knows called his name and I was saved but that would not even qualify for a sweet pass since the man saw me and knows his wife very well. I could tell I had been tagged �the P.A side chick.�

Today was certainly not different at work, after failing to have a good sleep the previous night, I arrived at work earlier than usual hoping to have a �me time� but that did not work. About ten minutes after my entrance, my boss followed suit. 

�Good morning sir� I greeted him, on my feet.

�Liz, how many times have I told you to drop these formalities?� 

I didn�t say anything, I didn�t even have anything to say to further complicate myself. 

�I want to have my schedules in my office sweetheart�

I nodded my head in submission as he blew me an air kiss and walked into his office. I hate this man with everything in me but I can�t quit this job. My salary is nothing to write home about yet it is what keeps me going. If I leave this work, that means returning to the village to suffer with my parents and other siblings which can never be an option.  I picked up the file on my table and walked up to his office with the aim of �drop and leave� but it failed. The moment I dropped the file and made it a point to leave, he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me close to him. This felt awkward. 

�I have a boyfriend� I managed to say.

�And I have a wife� he said cunningly. 

�With all due respect sir. I have tolerated your advances for far too long and I can�t condone it anymore.� 

�Then  accept me. Give me sugar, I give you more sugar� 

This statement of his annoyed me so much that I could even break his head with my fist if I had attempted. 

�I don�t like you. Imagine what you�d say if someone does this to your child.� 

�It�s her life darling�

�You can�t force me too sir!� I snapped and yanked my hand from his grip. Finally, this would be all over.

Getting home wasn�t tough compared to the day I had earlier. For once my boss passed by my desk without giving me pet names and blowing me kisses. He just talked as expected of a boss. 

Did I mention earlier that Austin and I are still seeing each other after he promised to break up with his rich girlfriend? My bad! The girl is still in the picture though and that irritates me a lot. I�ve been trying to get Austin to define this whole thing but he keeps giving excuses of how his family loves the girl so much. I asked what he truly feels for both of us last night and he unknowingly told me he loved Sarah, a lot. They had been together for four years and he can�t just waste this relationship and life just like that. Noticing my uncomfortable manner, he told me things would work out perfectly, I should just be patient.
