Cahill's hesitation seems quite honest as the two are closest and second in most football stats and hard to separate.
Both defy age and thrive. Both have scored from free-kicks for their nations Argentina and Portugal in their most recent international matches against Panama and Liechtenstein.
Heinze ignores Messi in GOAT . debate
Sports Brief reported earlier that Gabriel Heinze ignored Messi during the GOAT debate and chose Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo instead. The former Argentina international played with Ronaldo for 3 years at Manchester United and with Messi in the national team but ignored his compatriot.
The 42-year-old says Ronaldo cannot improve because his abilities are already at an almost divine level.
