Barcelona is facing a ban from the Champions League because of the Negreira case.
UEFA has requested a separate investigation from Thursday and the case has been pursued by prosecutors in Spain.
The Champions League governing body's regulations, in effect since 2007, allow the organization to ban teams from participating in the tournament for a season if they are found to be involved in match-fixing.

Court documents show Barcelona paid €7.3m (£6.4m) between 2001 and 2018 to two companies owned by Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, DASNIL and NILSAT. Negreira is a former vice-chairman of the Spanish football refereeing committee.
Spanish prosecutors have formally charged Barcelona with sports bribery, fraud management and falsification of commercial documents, and said they believe the club has a relationship with the head of the refereeing committee. to ensure that "favourable decisions" are made by the arbitrators.
No evidence has been presented that the referees or individual games were actually affected.
