Barcelona is facing a ban from the Champions League because of the Negreira case.
UEFA has requested a separate investigation from Thursday and the case has been pursued by prosecutors in Spain.
The Champions League governing body's regulations, in effect since 2007, allow the organization to ban teams from participating in the tournament for a season if they are found to be involved in match-fixing.
Champions League regulations in effect since April 2007 allow UEFA to disqualify teams from the competition for one season if they engage in match-fixing.
Court documents show Barcelona paid €7.3m (£6.4m) between 2001 and 2018 to two companies owned by Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, DASNIL and NILSAT. Negreira is a former vice-chairman of the Spanish football refereeing committee.
Spanish prosecutors have formally charged Barcelona with sports bribery, fraud management and falsification of commercial documents, and said they believe the club has a relationship with the head of the refereeing committee. to ensure that "favourable decisions" are made by the arbitrators.
No evidence has been presented that the referees or individual games were actually affected.

DANNY MURPHY:
Declan Rice MUST leave West Ham and Arsenal would be a great option… the star midfielder is among a group of England players who will support Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2024 by changing clubs this summer.
Declan Rice had to leave West Ham and play in the Champions League
Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire could all move out this summer
Harry Kane's Tottenham future is also unclear to Man Utd regarding the move
The England half that beat Italy could change clubs this summer in a very tumultuous transfer window. Some people think Gareth Southgate should be worried about possible disruption to his players, but I really think it will work in his favor at Euro 2024.
What could be better than Harry Kane and Declan Rice challenging for major titles, Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips regularly playing in the first team and Jude Bellingham tearing the Premier League apart.
It is unusual for so many British stars to face an uncertain future at the same time. You could also include goalkeeper Jordan Pickford if Everton are relegated, while Chelsea's Mason Mount is also attracting interest. Each individual's situation is slightly different. Not all of them will move to the next window, but many will. Declan Rice, who scored his first Napoli goal, is about to leave West Ham. Ideally he would have gone last summer because it was difficult for him to maintain his best form in a team that didn't hold the ball or play the boss as well as the others.
He's 100% ready to step up and at 24 he won't want to wait for Champions League football anymore. Arsenal would be a great pick and I think he will automatically start. Chelsea's appeal is also strong, having grown up supporting the club and playing in their academy.
Declan Rice will leave West Ham at the end of the season for a Champions League club
Several England players could be absent this summer that could help Southgate
If Rice has more than one Premier League suitor, Bellingham could choose any club in Europe. What he achieved when he arrived at Borussia Dortmund at just 19 years old was extraordinary.
I'm sure Real Madrid will love him, but I have a feeling he might want to go back to England and be closer to his family. Jurgen Klopp tells Virgil van Dijk he will win trophies at Manchester City but will remain forgotten 10 years after being at Liverpool, he will forever be a legend. I wouldn't be surprised if the same kind of selling could be used in Bellingham. Unlike Rice, he has Champions League experience so he may not be affected if Liverpool are not successful for a year.
So far, Maguire has defied the logic that you have to be at the club regularly to do well in a major tournament like the World Cup or the Euro, but Southgate still wants him to do more than sit on the bench for Manchester United. .
The defender reacted professionally when he dropped the order, but he seemed uncomfortable sitting on the touchline. I would be surprised if he doesn't play for another club next season.
Phillips is a little different. He may want to give him another chance to prove he can succeed at Manchester City. Again, Southgate wouldn't want any of their players to go camping for a few minutes. This affects the team selection. For example, could he risk Phillips again with Ukraine on Sunday after catching him in Italy?
