Manchester United youngster Amad spent the season on loan at Sunderland, the Ivory Coast international having impressed in the Championship.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly open to using Amad in a swap deal to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi. The Reds solidified that part of their squad by landing Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the summer, with Marcel Sabitzer later moving in in January. However, it seems the club think they need more options in midfield as they look to challenge for the Premier League title.
Amad is currently spending the season on loan at Sunderland, the 20-year-old has scored nine goals and two assists in 29 appearances so far. Now, however, Calciomercatoweb says the Red Devils may consider using Amad in a swap deal to secure Frattesi's signature.
The Italy international has impressed for his side this season, scoring six Serie A goals while also featuring in the Coppa Italia.
Ten Hag is keen to bring in another midfielder this summer, with familiar suspects like Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham closely linked.
However, Frattesi is said to be cheaper than the duo, with the Sassuolo star valued between £30-35m.

Furthermore, De Jong and Bellingham could be out of reach for United this summer - despite the impressive campaign they have had so far under Ten Hag. De Jong recently insisted he wants to stay at Barcelona, ??having previously turned down the Red Devils to stay at Camp Nou this summer.
“I am very happy and I want to continue at Barca for many more years,” said the Netherlands international, who left Ajax in 2019.
"I've always dreamed of playing for Barca and I want to be successful at Barca. I'm happy, relaxed, I'm more involved in the game.

And United are not the only side considering a move to Bellingham, with the England international hoping to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Liverpool also want the 19-year-old, although any potential transfer could depend on his ability to qualify for the Champions League.
Manchester City are also in on the action, especially after negotiating with Dortmund over Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji last summer.

It remains to be seen whether Sassuolo will accept Amad in exchange for Frattesi.
But Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray has been impressed with the youngster and his performances this season, telling MUTV:
“I think my first game was against Rotherham at home and I've never seen that before.
"We chose the squad but we only had one day of practice and I think he was introduced to the crowd at half-time of that game.
