FINAL WORD FROM REV. PROF. AZUMAH TO ISSAH IMORO.

The reply from Mr. Imoro is rather monotonously expected. Syme is a specialist in the areas where his accounts make sense in his narratives. Syme is incorrect where it doesn't belong. Like how he handled the Commission of Inquiry's recommendations, the Appeals Court's decision, PNDCL 75, the Supreme Court's decision, etc. So, continuing to interact with Mr. Imoro is of no intellectual benefit. Furthermore, he doesn't appear to have the temperament necessary for scholarly dialogue.

For your knowledge, Syme's description of the numerous Kusasi clans is the best representation of the hospitable, amenable, integrating, and absorbing characteristics of Kusaas. We are nondiscriminatory. We warmly welcome everyone—slaves included—into our families and clans; we make them feel at home, and eventually they become an essential component of us. Whatever their past, they have fully naturalized as Kusasis and are now eligible for all rights and privileges. These Obamas are ours! As a result, Kusaas are among the most accepting and tolerant individuals you will encounter, yet they are also the most fiercely independent. Our nature has never included submission. Because of this, the British-imposed Mamprusi reign over Kusaug only lasted 26 years out of the roughly 200 years they lived there

Even though very few of the Bawku Mamprusis have 100% Mamprusi blood, they have chosen to hold onto their fabled roots. They have chosen to give up all privileges and rights, including the power to rule over Kusaas as chiefs. You assert that Mamprugu encompasses the entire Frafra region. See how long any of the Chiefs there can survive on the Skin if they claim to be Mamprusis. Furthermore, you refer to "pure Mamprusis" as if your people have never interbred with other tribes and have instead just fallen from the sky. One more of your urban legends. Get up! I'll show you the Kusasi ancestors of any "pure Mamprusi" family in Bawku if you can show me one.

Long ago, the Kusasi clans you referred to as Nabdem, Talensi, etc., identified as Kusaas. Kusaal is widely spoken throughout the six administrative districts and is typically learned outside of the classroom at social gatherings, marketplaces, and residences. What you say, who you are, or how you see others are irrelevant. You constantly referring to Rev. Azumah as being from Zebilla, as if it were a criminal. You were never even told I'm from Zebilla. And why should anyone consider you serious when you so casually assign labels to others. The central theme of Bawku Mamprusi stories has been the repetition of a lie in the belief that it will eventually become the truth. They frequently disregard people they don't like and speak in demeaning ways about others;

My pastoral concern for the Kayayee girls appears to have so agitated Mr. Imoro that he is even debating with himself. If you're paying attention, I said that even if Mamprusis founded Bawku—one of your urban legends—it doesn't give you the right to the rest of Kusaug. Please respond to my query as well: Shouldn't Pusiga land and Skin be your top priorities as Gbewaa is said to have founded the community? Once more, in your own words: In 1931, the Kusasis "WILLINGLY" ceded their freedom. And let's not forget that the Mamprusi Bawku Naba at the time was a friend of the Kusasi. Hence, we have returned what we gave you! Why is it so challenging for you individuals to comprehend that? If you have trouble grasping it, you should at least be aware of the fact that yourSabongari, less than half a kilometer from your hideout, is a place where an imported chief can never set foot. In 2023, do you still believe you can rule Kusaug? That is utterly illogical.

Finally, I'll offer you a hint since you don't know who I am: Rumble, rumble! In the middle of the 1930s, my grandfather struck a Mamprusi Bawku Naba, for which the colonial authorities banished him. What am I?
