During the January transfer window, the spectacular transfer of the Ukrainian international to Stamford Bridge for a potential €100 million transfer price was finalized.
Mudryk chose Chelsea despite several reports that he was interested in moving to Arsenal. The 22-year-old made it plain that he wanted to sign with the Gunners while also leaving numerous social media cues that suggested his true home was at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea's offer, though, completely outclassed Arsenal's to Shakhtar Donetsk. Since joining the Blues in the winter, Mudryk has appeared seven times, although he has only contributed one assist and no goals.
In an interview with Sky Sports conducted in advance of Ukraine's Euro 2024 qualifying match against England on Sunday, Oleksandr Zinchenko, an Arsenal player, said he has been assisting Mudryk in adjusting to life in London.
"He was a huge assistance to me. I adore this guy. We frequently make jokes about Chelsea, Arsenal, and the color of London "said Mudryk.
"But I like this man because he's so humorous and nice. We always make the most of our time together."
In response to a question about the color of London, Mudryk only stated, "Blue."
Failure of Mykhailo Mudryk's Arsenal attempt
It is well known that Mudryk was a target for Arsenal during the winter transfer window and that the Ukrainian was determined to join the club.
According to 90min, Mudryk told Shakhtar Donetsk authorities in January that he wanted them to accept an offer from Arsenal.
Shakhtar was holding out for more than €70 million and frequently cited Manchester United's €95 million payment to Ajax for Antony as the going amount for a talented winger.
Midway through the transfer window, Chelsea eventually sent a delegation team to Shakhtar's mid-season training camp to work out a deal secretly from Arsenal.
Leandro Trossard, a forward for Brighton who has since emerged as a crucial cog in the Arsenal assault, was the next target for the Gunners.
