After joining Galatasaray last month, Nicolo Zaniolo criticized Roma for making "unfulfilled promises" and treating him like a "cash gain."
Early in February, Zaniolo departed the Eternal City giants to sign with the Turkish Super Lig leaders for a sum of €16.5 million.
The Italian midfielder was reportedly interested in a deal to Bournemouth during the January transfer window, but he declined the offer.
After being left out in the cold at Roma, Zaniolo signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray. The 23-year-old has blamed his former team for the way he was treated.
He said to the Gazzetta dello Sport: "I could talk about broken promises for hours. They [the Roma] claimed that I was a spearhead, but all along, all they saw in me was a profit gain.
"I've heard that the new contract is ready for two years. Because I was content in Rome and aware that Financial Fair Play had issues, I would have signed for a little bit more money in January of last year. I'm tired from all the talking. Others should, in my opinion, do the same if I have to think back on my departure.
The accusation of being a traitor upset Zaniolo.
Added him: "I apologize sincerely for that. Roma gave me everything; because of Roma, I was successful and made my national team debut, and my kid was born there. Being classified in that way was devastating."
Zaniolo went on: "The truth will be revealed. I'm only stating that even if it wasn't with the others, I've always trained."
There has been much talk about Zaniolo and Jose Mourinho's alleged falling out, but the playmaker is OK with the Roma head coach.
Zaniolo praised his former boss as a fantastic coach and a wonderful human being. "He almost always forced me to play. I wasn't a star player, though he is accustomed to managing them. He offered me so much even if I would have preferred to have him in four or five years."
