After England defeated Ukraine 2-0 on Sunday, Gareth Southgate praised Bukayo Saka's performance.
The Three Lions scored their goals in a span of four minutes, giving them a first-half advantage that Ukraine found difficult to overcome with to goals from Saka and Harry Kane.
Particularly remarkable, Saka gave Ukraine a lot of trouble both when crossing from a distance and when he was just in front of goal.
His goal was a beautiful curled attempt that found the top left corner, and the manager praised it after the game.
That's the vicious component he's added to his game, he said, "It's a top class finish."
You are aware that's conceivable if he intervenes. You are aware that it is possible for him to turn within.
Jude Bellingham and Saka are both described as a "pleasure to work with" by Southgate because they have a "great mindset" and "work so hard for the team."
After defeating Italy last week, England now leads their Euro qualification group with two victories out of two.
The manager continued, "Very delighted with today," appearing happier with Sunday's performance than he had been in Naples. We gave the ball away too easily in Italy, but tonight we made a challenging game look easy. Our midfielders did a great job.
On James Maddison, who started the match for England despite making one previous substitute appearance in 2019, Southgate remarked, "We wanted James as a reference and he drifted in."
"He played really well." He has the personality to play that way, so it didn't surprise me.
It was fantastic to have so many Ukrainian fans here, Southgate remarked, addressing the challenge of recognizing the situation in Ukraine without minimizing the game. We wanted to show respect because we were aware that it would be an emotional scenario.
We had to strike a balance between that and winning the game. It was not amicable. Hopefully word has spread that Ukraine has our support.
After earning all of their points and winning their first match in Italy since 1961, the Three Lions can look at this international break as a triumph.
The players will now return to their club teams, with England's next matches taking place in June when they play North Macedonia and Malta in additional qualifying matches.
