Mason Greenwood's transfer request was reportedly turned down by Manchester United.

The 21-year-old had attempted rape and assault allegations against him dropped last month, but he is still the subject of an internal club investigation regarding whether to keep him or cut him loose from Erik ten Hag's first-team squad.

Despite this, it seems as though Greenwood is attracting interest from other teams in front of a prospective return to football.

According to The Athletic, as United considers what to do with the homegrown talent, Greenwood has received offers from Turkish clubs that they have refused.

However, it is claimed that the striker on suspension would "jump through a brick wall to be back playing for Man United right now."

After the Red Devils' victory over West Ham at Old Trafford on January 22, 2022, Greenwood has not made an appearance for the team.

He was then detained and charged with attempted rape, assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and using coercive or controlling behavior in October.

The Crown Prosecution Office later withdrew key witnesses and new evidence as reasons for dropping those charges.

They also mentioned changes that meant conviction was "no longer a realistic prospect."

While this internal investigation is ongoing, Greenwood, who has a £70,000 per week contract with United until 2025 with the option of an additional year, won't resume training or playing.

The club issued a succinct statement in which it stated: "Manchester United notes the Crown Prosecution Service's decision that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dismissed."

The club will now carry out its own procedure before deciding what to do next. We won't say further until that procedure is finished.

United manager Erik ten Hag is said to have called Greenwood to inquire after his physical and emotional health and to express his satisfaction that the allegations against him had been dropped. The Times reports that the team is divided about Greenwood's potential comeback.

As with the women's team, some members of the squad are reportedly concerned about his return, while others have no issues with Greenwood's return.
