Before Sunday's King's League Final between Gerard Pique and Barcelona kicked off, Barcelona supporters yelled Lionel Messi's name.


On Sunday, the Camp Nou was filled to capacity with 92,000 spectators for the final of the seven-a-side football championship. 


Due to the Argentine's contract with PSG expiring at the end of the current campaign, Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona.

The King's League final, which was hosted by former Spain defender Gerard Pique, demonstrated how much Barcelona supporters still adore Lionel Messi.


For the seven-a-side competition final, around 92,000 spectators descended on Camp Nou, and prior to kickoff, they participated in chanting Messi's name. 


Two years after Messi left Barcelona to join Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, supporters of the Catalan club are still expecting to see him again. 


The 35-year-future old's at Camp Nou has been hotly rumored, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed the Catalan club will make an effort to entice Messi back when his contract with PSG ends at the end of the current campaign.


Kings League sold out Camp Nou. 


Almost 92,000 spectators attended the Kings League, which was organized by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, and saw "El Barrio" emerge as the competition's first victor, according to Marca. 


Neymar, a star for Paris Saint-Germain, was reportedly at the Camp Nou for the seven-a-side soccer match alongside Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, two other legendary Brazilian players.


Former Manchester City player Sergio "Kun" Aguero, David Villa, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta were all there for the football competition. 


Messi's homecoming is hinted at by Barcelona's president 


If the Argentine superstar decides not to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona is not ruling out the prospect of re-signing him for the upcoming campaign, according to a previous report from Sports Brief. 


While his current contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the current season, Messi, 35, has warned Barcelona that he may leave the club.


The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has recently stated that Messi's return to Camp Nou is always welcome.
