Liverpool are preparing geared up for a return to the Premier League this week after an international break.
The Reds will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as they continue their quest for a top-four spot. Liverpool are seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with two games less. in the Premier League.
After Liverpool host Man City, Jurgen Klopp's army will travel to the capital to receive Chelsea next Tuesday night. And while the Reds have to deal with their own injuries, it seems the Londoners have a selection problem as well.
Here, ECHO will look at what Chelsea and manager Graham Potter face as the clash with Liverpool approaches.
Kai Havertz
Chelsea striker Kai Havertz has been left out of the Germany squad during the international break.
Havertz has had to withdraw due to illness, and it remains to be seen whether he will recover in time for next week's clash with Liverpool.
Germany Tel confirmed Havertz will return to Chelsea shirt to recuperate.
Reece James
Chelsea defender Reece James was ruled out of the England squad last week with a hamstring injury.
The right-back is said to have suffered 'persistent problems' with injury, and looks set to be sidelined again.
James played just five minutes of England's win over Italy last Thursday, England later released a statement. "Reece James has withdrawn from the England squad and will not play against Ukraine on Sunday," the statement read. "The full-back has returned to Chelsea for an assessment of an ongoing issue."
Mason Mount
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been sidelined with a number of injuries in recent months.
Mount is out with a lower abdominal injury but Chelsea are hoping he can play after the international break.
Raheem Sterling
Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling suffered a hamstring injury just before the international break.
Although the injury was not too serious, Sterling was left out of the England squad as a precaution.
It remains to be seen whether the former Liverpool striker will be back in time to face his former club next week.
Edouard Mendy
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy broke his finger in January and required surgery.
The Senegal international has been slowly recovering from his injury and has even returned to training with teammates Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli.
Cesar Azpilicueta
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta suffered a concussion during Chelsea's defeat to Southampton last month.
He was later taken to the hospital for a check-up but now it appears he has recovered and is about to return to play.
With James in doubt, Chelsea boss Potter may be forced to include Azpilicueta in the squad sooner than expected.
Thiago Silva
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva injured his knee in the defeat to Tottenham last month.
The Brazilian has been sidelined with injury since then and there is no exact date on when he could return, although it was initially announced to be around six weeks.
If that is the case, then Silva will face a big test to be able to play against Liverpool next week.
Armando Broja
Chelsea striker Armando Broja suffered a serious knee injury in December and will be out for the rest of the season.
Broja ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during a mid-season friendly against Aston Villa, who subsequently required surgery.
