The German coach's return to coaching was confirmed last week after the Bundesliga giants made the ruthless and surprising decision to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann.
Tuchel has been out of work since he bitterly left Chelsea in September after his relationship with Todd Boehly almost completely fell apart.
The 49-year-old is keen to work in the Premier League again, with Tottenham keen to sign him, but Bayern's appeal proved irresistible.
Tuchel worked with Barry during their time together in west London and he wants to reunite with a coach who now combines his work at Chelsea with the Portuguese national team. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Tuchel said:
“My coaching staff was also unprepared, so a big thank you to their family for their flexibility.
“Arno Michels and Zsolt Low, who have worked with me for more than ten years, will be there. We hope to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea.
Chelsea are, according to the Daily Telegraph, unhappy with their former manager for confirming their intention to reward Barry from Graham Potter.
Currently, Bayern are said to have offered compensation, but it is believed to be significantly below Chelsea's assessment and Barry will not stay at the club until his situation is resolved.
Meanwhile, Tuchel has been planning to strike Chelsea for a second time and is hoping to sign influential midfielder Mateo Kovacic this summer. The experienced Croatian enjoyed the best time of his career under Tuchel when Chelsea won the Champions League two years ago.
Kovacic will have just one year left on his current contract this summer and with Manchester City also monitoring his situation, he may choose to seek a new challenge.
Tuchel is a huge fan of the 28-year-old and said last year:
“He looks like a prodigy doing some exercises. A lovely guy, a humble guy and very sporty. He is happy to train and deliver to the team. It was a real pleasure.
"Even at Real Madrid, I was aware of his talent and I feel there will be a next step. I am very happy that he is my player and he has played a lot during the season. He's so important to us on and off the pitch in the way he behaves.
