KNUST SONSOL PROJECT AND HOW TO APPLY

As a component of the Vice-Chancellor's program to assist disadvantaged students in pursuing higher education, the 'SONSOL Project furnishes them with laptops to aid their studies.


                  


To qualify for the KNUST One Needy Student One Laptop Project, applicants must meet the following criteria:




- Be a Ghanaian undergraduate student in KNUST, including those from IDL and Obuasi Campus, and from any college.


- Have a high level of academic performance and demonstrate financial need.

                

- For first-year students, a maximum WASSCE aggregate of 15 is required.


- Not currently benefiting from any scholarship or bursary above GHC 2,000.00, including Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, GNPC, Tullow, MTN Foundation, Vodafone, EPI, Edu-Fundazione, GET-Fund, MP Common Fund, District Assembly Support, or any other scholarship or bursary.


- Only available for first-year undergraduate students. Postgraduate students are not eligible to apply.



To apply for the KNUST One Needy Student One Laptop Project, you must provide the following:


- Proof of Need: This should briefly explain why you require a laptop to support your university education. You may provide relevant details, such as your financial situation, limited access to technology, or other pertinent information.


- Admission Letter: A copy of your admission letter from the university you are attending.


- Acceptance Letter: A copy of your acceptance letter from the university you are attending.


- WASSCE Results: Your WASSCE results, with a maximum aggregate of 15 for first-year students.


These are the requirements for the application process, and all documents must be provided to be considered for the program.

- If you have received any awards or certificates for your participation in extra-curricular activities, please provide them as part of your application for the KNUST One Needy Student One Laptop Project.



Please take note of the following important information regarding the KNUST One Needy Student One Laptop Project application process:


1. All required documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the applicant's name, program, year, reference number, and phone number is clearly written on it.


2. The documents should be submitted to the Student Affairs and Financial Services (Room 19) in the Dean of Students Office, J Harper Building.


3. Any written statements must be typed in Times New Roman font, size 12, and double-spaced.

                                           

4. Late applications will not be considered. Please submit all required documents before the deadline.


5. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.
