Arsene Wenger and his longtime nemesis Alex Ferguson have both been elected into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Once the former Arsenal manager was admitted into the competition's Hall of Fame, Mikel Arteta referred to him as the most important manager in Premier League history.
After 16 players had previously been added, Wenger and Alex Ferguson were inducted on Wednesday, making them the first managers to enter the Hall of Fame.
Throughout his lengthy tenure as Arsenal's manager, Wenger led the team to three Premier League championships, including the 2003–04 "Invincibles," and seven FA Cup victories.
His revolutionary football philosophy, which includes a dedication to playing attacking football, is well known.
No other managers, according to Arteta, "have had a greater impact."
"Some managers have introduced new concepts, new personalities, and new competitions.
"In a different way than other managers, he introduced the Premier League to the globe. Compared to other managers at the time, he had a vision that was far more expansive.
England and the Premier League owe this man a huge debt of gratitude for all time.
From 2011 and 2016, Arteta spent five seasons as Wenger's player before taking over as Arsenal manager in 2019.
Arteta has the Gunners leading the Premier League by eight points with 10 games remaining after they won the FA Cup in 2020.
Arteta, who has Wenger to thank for assisting him both as a player and in the next phase of his career, believes that Arsenal will win their first championship in 19 years.
Because of the way Arsenal played, Arteta continued, "I had an ambition to play for this club.
It was quite alluring. I had a great time hanging out with him. Towards the end of my career, he encouraged me to pursue coaching as well.
"We had a talk, and I asked him what he would do if he were in my shoes since I wasn't sure I wanted to pursue a career as a coach.
He assisted me in completing my badges at the club and the academy, and he was an inspiration overall.
