Liverpool teenager Harvey Elliott has been named one of the world's best young players by an American publication, compiled by scouts and directors.

Liverpool teenager Harvey Elliott has been named one of world football's most exciting talents.

Elliott has had a fantastic season at Jürgen Klopp after suffering a horrific double fracture last season. He has made 40 appearances in all competitions and his development this season has been one of the few bright spots in a very lackluster campaign for the Reds.

Elliott was named by ESPN as one of the world's best players aged 21 and under. The US newspaper ranked 39 players from around the world with the help of scouts and sports directors around the world, and Elliott ranked 36th.

"Strength:

Dynamic, dynamic and light, the England Under-21 international presses purposefully and opens the door with his movements," ESPN said on Elliott.

"When in possession, he adds to the game's versatility with his instinctive touches, straightforward passing and excellent dribbling skills. His left foot - though not being used. properly on set pieces and from long range - also of a high standard."

They also identified several areas of Elliott's game that he could improve and refine over the next few years.

"How can he improve:

Coupled with inconsistent defensive contributions and physical shortcomings in strength and height, Elliott should be looking to beat his opponent in the center area to a higher degree - especially since he He's very good at that. Considering his creativity and intelligence, we expect him to contribute more than five goals and two assists in 40 games this season."

Harvey Elliott has been ranked among the best young players in the world by ESPN.

Elliott has scored three goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season and has been used by Jürgen Klopp in various roles in midfield and attack this season, a sign of his manager's confidence Coach for young players.

Klopp is an avid fan - "He's a brave lad and a great footballer," the German said on his return from last season's injury - and ESPN's rankings are a word. Another reminder of Elliott's talent.
